Google phone will only be a software

The first official statement from Google about Google phone has been released. As per the WashingtonPost.com and Google Press Google phone will not be actually a cellphone, but it will be a piece of software running on the hardware of other cellphone makers. Companies like Motorola, Samsung, HTC and and LG Electronics have already undertstood to have agreed to use Google’s software in some of their phones.

It has also been stated that Google Phone Software will be available only in second half of 2008.And, as can be expected, the software from the big 'G' will be free unlike the other players like Palm, Nokia, Microsoft of RIM (BlackBerry) who charge handset makers to install their operating systems.
