Apple iTunes | Online music sales leaving CDs far behind

With the continuous spread of Broadband, the online music sales are fast leaving the CD business far behind.

The latest news being that Apple's iTune Store now (first quarter of 2007) had 9.8% of all music sales leaving behind Amazon.com at 6.7 percent. The first two spots are with Wal-Mart’s 15.8 percent and Best Buy’s 13.8 percent. Apple sells music through Internet, while other three mainlr take orders on Internet but ship the CDs in physical mode.

Looks like iTunes are well placed to go ahead further with coming iPhone.
